Hi

For the more adventurous…

This is a little taste of what diversity Africa has to offer those more adventurous travelers. These are just a few ideas that Tours for Africa would like to share with you for your next adventure.

Mount Kilimanjaro

At 3 degrees below the equator and the highest mountain in Africa at 5895m, the base of this free standing marvel sweats it out in the steamy plains of Tanzania, while the summit protrudes through the clouds being permanently ice-capped. Any reasonably fit person can reach the summit of ‘Kili’, and there are several routes available. You will need a minimum of 5 days for the hike, passing through tropical rain forest, heath land and alpine desert, finally reaching the permanent glaciers and the summit – Uhuru Peak. After the hard work of the climb, and the exhilaration of achievement, what better way to reward yourself than with a safari to the famous Serengeti plains, or a relaxing beach holiday on exotic Zanzibar Island?

Gorillas In The Mist – Uganda

A lush green paradise, surrounded by mountains, lakes and dark forests. It is filled with friendly people, wildlife, over a thousand species of birds and of course home to the Mountain Gorilla! Tracking mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – well that is certainly something to write home about! Bwindi Impenetrable Forest conjures up mystical images of deep forest – it is in fact home to about half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas. As an extension, Uganda has many national parks that boast wonderful safari opportunities or a couple of days fishing in Lake Victoria and is easily combined with Kenya or Tanzania for safari opportunities. This is a once in a lifetime adventure.

Madagascar lies 400 kilometres off the east coast of Africa and offers diverse and spectacular scenery: mountains, deserts, rainforests, dazzling beaches fringing the Indian Ocean and island archipelagos linked by coral reefs and clear turquoise waters. As the 4th largest Island on Earth and relatively untouched, it is legendary for its profusion of wildlife and flora, 80% of which is found nowhere else on earth. Whether you stay in the best or simplest accommodation, try Island hopping in a Dhow. Snorkel over soft corals in marine reserves teeming with underwater life. Fish for game fish. Explore an island in search for the semi-tame black Lemurs. Enjoy the sailing lifestyle…in this ultimate paradise.
